Rubus 'Ponca' PP33330 - Taste of Heaven™ Thornless Blackberry

Taste of Heaven Thornless Blackberry is a compact deciduous shrub with an upright habit and extra large and sweet summer fruits.  The white rose-like flowers give way to clusters of large blackberries ready for harvest in mid summer and again two weeks later.  Fruits best in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Taste of Heaven only fruits on second-year canes, so is easy to maintain size, and is self-pollinating.  Has a chill requirement of 400-500 hours.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance.  Water regularly. Remove fruiting canes to the ground immediately after harvest, non-fruiting canes can be tip pruned in summer.  Generally performs best when staked. Wilt, Anthracnose, and botrytis can be serious disease problems. Cane and crown borers are potential pest issues.
