Pocahontas Lilac

Pocahontas Lilac is a large upright deciduous shrub with dark green foliage that turns bronzy red in fall.  Panicles of maroon violet buds open to fragrant violet flowers that bloom heavily from early to mid spring.  Best flowering with full sun and rich, moist well-drained neutral soils.  

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  No serious pests or diseases. Does not do well in acidic soils. Overfertilization can reduce blooms.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Gardens, Groundcover, Foundational Plantings, Hedges, and Containers.
